Since the tradition of magic shows showed that most of the protagonists of these works were men, in 2006, I decided to start a festival of women doing magic. Little did I think there would be so many.

Eight editions were held in Terrassa and, thanks to the support of the public and the magical community, the role of the magical woman was strengthened. But...the damned crisis came. No magic wand could make it disappear. He mowed down our hopes and the festival was unemployed like so many personal and cultural projects.

We have been on hiatus for four years and the professional situation of magicians in terms of magic is not as harmonious as we would like, there is still a lack of a single platform for magicians to present their shows and show their art to the world. DAMA is back with a bang to fill that space.

On March 15, 16 and 17, the town of Premià de Dalt will breathe magic and excitement from all four sides. With renewed enthusiasm I invite magic professionals and the general public to join us and enjoy the festival in this exciting current stage.

This year you will be able to see international magicians who have been awarded all over the world. We are also pleased and proud to award the 19th Honorary Magical Lady Award to Consuelo Lorgia, a Colombian magician, who carries magic in her genes, generation after generation.

The purpose of creating EscenARTS – as a stable cultural program in Premià de Dalt – was born from the desire to show and share the different disciplines of the performing arts with the neighbors of our town.

Our conviction in the empowerment of women and in equal opportunities makes the 9th edition of DAMA essential, and we have decided to program it within the EscenARTS d'hiver in the month of March as the conclusion of the activities around of Women's Day.

A unique festival in the world in Premià de Dalt that will have the presence of Magical Ladies from all over: Sweden, China, Portugal, Spain, Germany, France and Catalonia.
