The Magical Ladies Festival dedicated to magicians is back

The ninth version of the Magical Ladies Festival (Lady) after four years since its most recent version. It took place last March 15, 16 and 17, in the city of Premià de Dalt in Barcelona.

This edition had guests from many parts of the world: Consol Lorgia (Colombia), Amelie (Madrid), Ilva Scali (France), Malin Nilsson (Sweden), Astrid Gloria (Germany), Solange Kardinaly (Portugal), Huang Zheng (China ) and for Catalonia: Gloria Roig, Addadura Theater Visual, Joana Andreu, La Dama Inquieta, Pepa Plana and Noel.

The festival also featured close-up and stage magic galas open to the public, an exhibition of magic books, workshops and lectures on magic and related arts.

Teia Moner, the creator and director of Dama, is a teacher, actress, magician and puppeteer. An artist in every sense. In 2006 she decided to launch a festival of female magicians, seeing that most magic shows were starring men. It was such a great success that they held eight editions in Terrassa.

Every year the role of women who do magic was consolidated. Unfortunately, the crisis came and with it took this beautiful festival for a few years. Luckily, it was able to be reborn in 2019.

We have been on hiatus for four years and the professional situation of magicians in relation to the world of magic is not as harmonious as we would like, there is still a lack of a platform for magicians to present their shows and show their art to the world.

Consuelo Lorgia, Colombian magician, she was awarded the Honorary Magical Lady Special Award, for her work and carrying the surname of a magical dynasty with great honor.
